About the Traffic Unit Officers assigned to the Traffic Unit work closely with traffic engineering, community development, public works and neighborhood groups to improve our response to traffic safety issues.
The Traffic Unit actively participates in traffic safety programs and national enforcement campaigns throughout the year. These include the Click It or Ticket; You Drink, You Drive, You Lose; and the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaigns. We also oversee the multi-agency holiday D.U.I. coordinated corridor patrol called “Provide a Safe Run on Rt.21” designated to detect impaired motorists.
The Unit is involved in the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County (M.C.A.T), the Lake County Traffic Management Association (T.M.A.) and the Buffalo Grove Traffic Management Committee (T.M.C.).
