The Pinta Pride Project's Inaugural Family Friendly Pride Parade will take place Sunday, June 2, 2019. The parade itself will begin at 10 AM and should disperse close to noon, but set up and clean up will occur during the period of 5 AM and 5 PM that day.
The parade is being thrown through funds raised by The Pinta Pride Project, Inc., a private, non profit organization and no funds have come from the Village of Buffalo Grove.

The parade begins at the intersection of Carry Lane and Checker Drive and moves on a path north on Checker to Ridgefield Lane. The parade will disperse onto Ridgefield and Shady Grove. Staging areas will begin at Carry and move south to Checker and Old Checker. The staging area will then round the corner going east at Checker and Old Checker ending at the parking lot to Willow Stream Park. Checker Drive will be closed from 5AM to 5PM to through traffic. Residents who are concerned about getting in and out of the parade area should park on Silver Rock, Twisted Oak, Essington, and Dunham. The Police Department will not enforce overnight parking restrictions in the area of the parade on the evening of June 1, to allow residents impacted by the parade to be able to get to their vehicles.

The Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Departments have been involved in every step of the planning for this parade. There will be an increased police presence throughout the day. There will also be safety barriers running down both sides of the parade route for the safety of participants, observers and property owners.
The Buffalo Grove Park District will be continuing the celebration with a festival entitled “Uniquely Us” at Mike Rylko Park directly after the parade and finishing in the late afternoon. For more information on this, visit their web site at http://bgparks.org/.
