Oxcart Permit Application

The Village of Buffalo Grove requires permits for trucks that exceed the following weight/sizes:

Weight (non-divisible loads only)

• 80,000 lbs gross
• 34,000 lbs tandem axle
• 20,000 lbs single axle
• Any weights exceeding the Federal Bridge Formula

Size

• 8’6 width
• 13’6 height
• 55’ length (semi-tractor/trailer)
• 60’ length (truck-trailer)
• 42’ length (single vehicle)

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATIONBefore a permit can be issued, two documents must be in possession of the Buffalo Grove Police Department:

• Completed application.
• Certificate of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00. The certificate must list the Village of Buffalo Grove as the certificate holder. You do not need to resubmit a certificate if the police department has a valid certificate on file.
