FINGERPRINT POLICYFingerprinting is done only when both a member of the Buffalo Grove Police Department is available, AND the jail is unoccupied. For your convenience, please call the Police Department non-emergency line prior to your arrival to check availability at: (847) 459-2560.
If you are a Village of Buffalo Grove license applicant, you must pay the application fee to the Village of Buffalo Grove (50 Raupp Boulevard, Buffalo Grove) prior to being fingerprinted. License application prints are done electronically and do not require a fingerprint card.

Frequently Asked Questions
The department completes fingerprint cards for the following:
- Employment applications
- Security clearance
- Foreign travel/employment
- Self check for criminal record
- Your own fingerprint card, which will be returned to you after fingerprinting. You or your employer is responsible for submitting the prints. The department does not check criminal histories for you or your employer.
- $20 cash for walk-in fingerprinting services
