Block Party Equipment and Appearance Request

Please note: The Village does not require any type of application or permit to hold a block party in Buffalo Grove. It is the responsibility of the block party hosts to notify neighbors who may be affected by street closures during the event. 

Block Party Appearance Request

The Village of Buffalo Grove enjoys engaging with the community by making special appearances at neighborhood block parties. We do our best to honor all requests, however, safety is our top priority, and calls for service may prevent us from doing so. If you would like to request police, fire and/or public works to make an appearance, please submit your request at least 14 days prior to your event, so we can assess availability of equipment and personnel. Remember, while we will do our best to accommodate, a request does not guarantee an appearance. If an appearance is scheduled, please understand that it may also be cancelled in the event of an emergency or call for service.

Departments Requested for Appearance


Requested barricades can be picked up from Public Works during their typical hours (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) the week prior to the scheduled block party. Please come into our main entrance at 51 Raupp Blvd. If you are unable to pick up barricades at that time, please contact Public Works at 847-459-2545 to make arrangements.
