Buffalo Grove Police Obtain Arrest Warrant for Homicide Suspect

Ermak, AnatoliyIn the early hours of Wednesday, November 20th, Buffalo Grove Police, in cooperation with the Lake County Major Crime Task Force (LCMCTF), as well as the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office secured an arrest warrant for homicide suspect, Anatoliy Ermak.

An arrest warrant was approved by a Cook County Judge for two counts of first degree murder. The warrant is valid throughout the United States and should the suspect be located outside of Buffalo Grove’s jurisdiction, he will be extradited.

“This warrant is the result of more than 48-hours of non-stop investigation,” said Buffalo Grove Chief Steven Casstevens. “The investigators have worked diligently to secure this warrant, and I am proud of the hard work and collaboration between our local and federal agencies involved.”

“Locating the suspect and providing safety and security to our residents remain the Police Department’s priorities and we will continue to work exhaustively at both,” he continued.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department and Lake County Major Crime Task Force have identified a suspect in the double homicide which occurred at 150 Lake Boulevard on Sunday evening.

Anatoliy Ermak, 64, is wanted in connection to the homicides and should be considered armed and dangerous. Ermak may be driving a white Nissan Versa hatchback with Florida license plate – KCFK75.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department and Lake County Major Crime Task Force continue their investigation into the double homicide which occurred last evening, the 17th, around 8:15 p.m.

Information learned throughout the day continues to demonstrate this was a targeted attack and police have no reason to believe there is a threat to the community.

The victim’s identities continue to be withheld, pending full notification to next-of-kin.

While police have no reason to believe the offender will return to the area, due to the severity of the crime and the discomfort within the community, officers will have an increased police presence in the Cambridge on the Lake neighborhood.

 The Buffalo Grove Police Department, with the assistance of the Lake County Major Crime Task Force (LCMCTF), are investigating a double homicide which occurred in the parking garage of the 150 building on Lake Boulevard, in Buffalo Grove.

Police were dispatched to the scene around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 17th after a resident saw two unresponsive persons near a vehicle with blood on the ground. Once officers arrived, they determined the two people, a man and a woman, had been shot and were unable to be revived. Pending notice to the next-of-kin, their identities are not being released at this time.

The shooter is described as a white male, possibly in his 60’s, wearing dark clothing, a dark jacket, and dark baseball-style hat.
