On November 9, 2019, the Buffalo Grove Police Department hosted their 4th annual ‘Trivia Night’ to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. The event had previously been held in Buffalo Grove but moved to the Concorde Banquets in Kildeer due to growing attendance. More than 225 participants gathered for ten rounds of trivia questions, created by and emceed by none other than Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens. “The evening is a culmination of hard work by our department volunteers, sponsors, and participants. Having such a large sum to donate is the highlight, closely followed by the camaraderie and laughs throughout the night.” Partakers also enjoyed live music performed by guitarist, Glen Murschel. At the conclusion of the evening, the total amount raised for Special Olympics Illinois was $15,028.95, bringing the department’s yearly total for 2019 to more than $64,000. This is the highest amount raised during one year for the agency ever.
