IMG_4584The Buffalo Grove Fire Department responded to a single-family home fire at 25 Dellmont Court on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 12:51 p.m.

The fire destroyed the roof and caused extensive damage to the attic, along with water and smoke damage to the second floor of the home. The house will be uninhabitable until it is inspected and cleared by Buffalo Grove Code Enforcement officials. No cause for the fire has been determined at this time; its cause is under investigation.

Upon arrival, firefighters noted fire and heavy smoke from the rear roof of the structure which extended through the front of the roof due to limited access into the attic. The fire was elevated to a Box Alarm at 1:13 p.m. due to the extreme temperatures outside. The fire was later elevated to a second level Box Alarm. More than 20 area fire departments responded to assist.

Two adult residents were home at the time of the fire, but neither were injured.  Additionally, three firefighters were evaluated on the scene with heat-related injuries, and two were transported to local hospital to be evaluated.
