Nationally in 2018, 10,511 people were killed in drunk driving crashes, making up nearly one-third of all traffic fatalities that year. More than 10,000 people have died because of impaired driving each of the last four years in the United States.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department joined forces with other law enforcement agencies and highway safety partners throughout the state for the enforcement effort. The statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns are made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
