Lake Cook Road project awarded Project of the Year

Last year's completion of the Lake Cook Road project (Raupp Boulevard to Weiland Road) is one certainly worth celebrating! This week the American Public Works Association's (APWA) Metro Chicago Chapter - Suburban Branch named it Project of the Year in the Transportation ($25M-$75M) category. The project, many years in the making, included a full reconstruction of the road along with several safety improvements for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. In fact, the project reconstructed four of the five highest crash intersections in BG! This project was possible with collaboration of Cook County Department of Transportation, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling and several other partners (many representatives pictured above).
