Fire Department Releases 2020 Annual Report

Buffalo Grove, Illinois – The Village of Buffalo Grove Fire Department released its 2020 Annual Report, which highlights the Department’s accomplishments and call statistics during the past year. “I am pleased to share the Village of Buffalo Grove Fire Department’s annual report for 2020,” said Fire Chief Mike Baker. “While 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic significantly challenged the Fire Department’s operations, the Department’s highly skilled firefighter/paramedics met that challenge in stride.”

The report recaps the Department’s activity over the past year, including the types of emergency incidents staff responded to and some of the statistics that the Department uses to monitor response performance and workload. In addition to responding to over 4,600 calls in 2020, Department staff succeeded in adapting its public education messaging to a solely virtual environment, achieving significant improvements in patient care and response capabilities through the deployment of new equipment, and securing 1.5 million dollars in federal reimbursements relating to COVID-19.
