Buffalo Grove Public Works Director Mike Reynolds and Maintenance Superintendent Bryan Beitzel are now Certified Public Works Managers [CPWP-M].

Two Buffalo Grove Public Works employees have achieved a top, national certification through The American Public Works Association (APWA).

The Certified Public Works Professional – Management [CPWP-M) certification was achieved by Buffalo Grove Public Works Director Mike Reynolds, and Maintenance Superintendent Bryan Beitzel. Both employees were required to take a written exam that was offered during the APWA Expo, which was held in August of 2018.

“Our Public Works Department is second to none and has obtained multiple awards and accreditations over the last several years,” said Village President Beverly Sussman. “We are very proud of Mike and Bryan for this achievement, and of the entire department for their professionalism and hard work, especially through the difficult weather we’ve had since the start of 2019.”

This certification recognizes individuals working in the public works field who possess the knowledge, experience and ability to manage public works department organizations. Reynolds and Beitzel are two of just three public works professionals in Illinois, and 30 from across the country, who have achieved this certification.
