On Tuesday, the CDC released new guidance recommending that vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals should wear a mask indoors in areas identified with ‘substantial’ to ‘high’ virus transmission. This new guidance, which has been endorsed by IL Dept of Health (IDPH) is a result of the increased transmission of the COVID-19 Delta variant. Per the CDC tracker, Buffalo Grove (both Cook and Lake counties) is currently at a 'moderate' transmission level. As it has in the past, Buffalo Grove will be following CDC and state guidelines. The Village will continue to monitor the virus spread and guidance updates.

- Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals in public places AND for all individuals in certain settings such as health care, public transit, airplanes, and congregate settings.
- Masks guidance for schools, daycares, and educational institutions will be established by separate state agencies. Compliance by all individuals is expected.
