Development Process

Village staff works closely with property owners and developers during the development process. The following provides a high level overview of the major steps in the development process. 
Process Overview

1. Concept Plan
  • Applicant schedules a meeting with the village. 
  • Applicant presents concept plan to the Village Board. 
  • Applicant presents concept plan to the Planning and Zoning Commission. 
2. Preliminary Plan
  • Applicant submits application, related documents and fee. 
  • Village schedules a public hearing at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. 
  • Village Board votes for final approval. 
3. Final Development Plan
  • Applicant submits plans for final engineering and plat of subdivision for review. 
  • Applicant submits building permits. 
  • Village reviews and issues permits.
