Three men considered suspects in a string of burglaries across the northwest suburbs were arrested on Friday, November 9, 2018 for suspicion of residential burglary.
Pablo Martinez, 26, of the 10000 block of Chestnut Avenue in Franklin Park, Oscar Peralta, 22, previously of Chicago, and Jaime A. Jaime, 32, of the 3200 block of S. Central Avenue in Cicero, each were arrested and charged with one count of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony.
Buffalo Grove Police, the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force (NORTAF), and numerous other northwest suburban police departments worked together for months to identify the offenders, conduct surveillance, and eventually make the arrests.
“The time and commitment investigators put forth paid off and will make Buffalo Grove and the surrounding areas, safer,” said Buffalo Grove Investigations Commander Tom Reed. “The teamwork between departments was invaluable; every officer was heavily invested as this crew was believed to be committing crimes in multiple jurisdictions.”
Members from NORTAF witnessed an in-progress residential burglary on November 9 in Buffalo Grove, in the 600 block of Buckthorn Terrace. NORTAF alerted Buffalo Grove patrol officers and investigators, who responded and assisted. Martinez, Peralta, and Jaime were seen by police exiting a home and attempting to leave the area in a black Dodge Charger RT. A felony traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the men were subsequently arrested. Additional property was recovered from the vehicle, and investigators are working to identify the items and return them to their rightful owners.
Further charges are expected to be added at a later time. The three men are being held at the Lake County Jail, with an upcoming court date of November 26, 2018 at the Lake County Courthouse at 1:30 p.m., in room T110.
