On collection day, place the specially designed cart on the curb for collection. Waste Management will handle the cart using a truck equipped with an automated arm that empties the cart into the truck and returns the cart to its original position, without the operator leaving the cab. This collection method is much safer and more efficient than traditional manual collection. This improvement in service, environmental benefits, and a safer work environment ensures a high level of cost-effective service.
Detached, single family homes were provided with a 96-gallon toter cart for trash. Attached, townhomes were provided with a 64-gallon toter cart for trash. Residents may change the size of their cart for no cost by contacting Waste Management during the month of May.
There is no change to the recycling and yard waste program. Beginning April 1, 2013 the Village’s refuse, recycling, and yard waste rates will increase $0.61 per home per month. From that point on, the Village’s refuse, recycling and yard waste rates are fixed until 2017.
Empty trash containers may be left at the curb to be picked up for recycling. Please affix an orange "TAKE" sticker onto the trash can. Stickers are available for any additional trash cans you would like to have removed.
Residents with questions or service related issues regarding the solid waste and recycling program may contact Waste Management Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.
