Primary Duties
- Work closely with the Village Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Village.
- Supervise the Divisions of Planning, Communications, and Information Technology, and the Department of Building and Zoning.
- Oversee the Village's economic development program, including but not limited to negotiating annexation agreements and financial incentives to improve the environment in the community; presenting proposals to the Village Board for final consideration; and educating and assisting new and current businesses to take advantage of business resources such as loans, grants, mentor programs, and publications.
- Staff the Village's Arts Commission and oversee specific programs such as the Buffalo Grove Invitational Fine Art Festival, Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and Limelight Cafe.
- Regularly review Village programs and services to manage costs, and improve efficiency and effectiveness.
