Aggregation service shift letter sent in error

Electricity consortium customers will receive corrected correspondence

BUFFALO GROVE | The Northwest Electric Aggregation Consortium, representing the communities of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Palatine, Wheeling and Vernon Hills, is responding to a letter sent to its aggregation customers in error.

A notice was sent from ComEd to a number of residents who participate in the communities’ electric aggregation program stating that their account would be dropped by Integrys and moved back to ComEd. That letter was sent in error. Residents who received opt out notices regarding the Village's new supplier, Constellation, and did not opt out, will receive a correct letter from ComEd confirming their enrollment with Constellation as their aggregation provider.

Power flow with Integrys will continue to meter read dates in May at which point it will switch directly to Constellation, as contracted by the Village. This change applies to all residents and small businesses participating in the aggregation program who received opt out notices but did not opt out.

Again, this notice was sent in error. Residents need not take any action based on this notice. The Consortium and Village governments apologize for any inconvenience caused by this error.

Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band plans upcoming concerts

The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band will host four concerts through the end of 2013

BUFFALO GROVE - Each year the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band presents a series of free holiday concerts as a way of 'giving back' to the people of Buffalo Grove and surrounding communities who so graciously support the band throughout the year.

This year, the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Band will each present two concerts. The concert schedule through 2013 is listed below. Please note that concert selections are subject to change.

UPDATE: 2014 Draft Budget, Village Board budget presentation available online now

Village staff members presented 2014 Draft Budget overview at November 18 Board Meeting

BUFFALO GROVE - Buffalo Grove staff members presented the 2014 Draft Budget to the Trustees at the November 18 Village Board meeting, and both the presentation and the Draft Budget document are available for review.

Both documents can be found online now at www.vbg.org.

The budget document includes budgets for each department as well as information about the Village's services, budget process and financial policies.

Village Manager Dane Bragg and Deputy Village Manager Jenny Maltas presented an overview of the budget and development priorities and processes to the Village Board on November 18.

After the overview, Finance Director Scott Anderson provided specific information regarding each department budget and other Village funds. Department heads were at the meeting to ask questions.

The budget will be presented for approval at the Board meeting scheduled for December 2.Read on...
