The Buffalo Grove Police Department showed zero tolerance for impaired driving during the Labor Day holiday, arresting five offenders for the potentially deadly crime. Two of those drivers arrested were also cited for endangering the life of a child.

In addition, 62 citations were written for seat belt violations and 26 distracted driving tickets were written.

“The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign gives police departments across the state the opportunity to help spread the message that preventing impaired driving is a matter of life or death,” said Buffalo Grove Police Sergeant Michelle Kondrat.

The Buffalo Grove Police Department partnered with law enforcement around the state for Illinois’ Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Labor Day safety campaign, ramping up its usual enforcement efforts from August 20 through September 4, 2018 with the addition of 26 enforcement details focused on impaired driving and safety belt violations

The Illinois Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal dollars managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
