Lake County residents, businesses and organizations are asked to report damages online to determine if they are eligible for state or federal assistance.
Buffalo

Property owners and dwellers in Lake County are being asked to report damages resulting from heavy rainfall, storms and subsequent flooding over the last week.

Lake County has provided a brief questionnaire on its website where individuals can submit individual flood damage reports. These reports can be made at the following website link: https://goo.gl/5bG3pU

The results will determine if areas that were impacted in both incorporated and unincorporated areas of Lake County are eligible for state or federal assistance.

Recent flooding prompted Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor to declare Lake County a disaster area on Thursday, July 13, 2017.

On Sunday, July 16, 2017, Governor Bruce Rauner also proclaimed Cook County a disaster area after visiting several flooded areas throughout the county.

Property owners and dwellers in Cook County who are experiencing financial and/or insurance issues as a result of flooding are encouraged to visit https://www.illinois.gov/ready/after/Pages/Financials.aspx.
