CAR HITS TREE IN BUFFALO GROVE, DRIVER EXTRICATED AND IN SERIOUS CONDITION

The crash occurred at Buffalo Grove Road near Aptakisic Road on the evening of Friday, July 14, 2017 in Buffalo Grove.

At approximately 10:35 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, Buffalo Grove Fire and Police Departments responded to a report of a car that had crashed into a tree on Buffalo Grove Road near Aptakisic Road in Buffalo Grove.

Once on the scene, police closed Buffalo Grove Road north and southbound. The driver was entrapped in the four-door Toyota Corolla, and was the sole occupant in the car.

Emergency crews were ultimately able to extricate the driver from the vehicle on the driver side, and stabilized the individual before transport to the Level One Trauma Center at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The driver is currently in serious condition.

Prior to emergency personnel being called to the scene, bystanders reported they had attempted to assist the individual, but were unable to help due to heavy front end damage and the doors of the vehicle being crushed resulting from the collision with the tree.
