The Buffalo Grove Police Department is proud to sponsor our annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Clinic on Saturday, May 27, 2017, starting at 11:00 a.m.
Buffalo Grove Police officers will be on hand to educate participants about the realistic skills they need to ride a bicycle safely course. Skills tested will be: maneuvering around stationary objects, emergency braking, balance, and more. Participants can show off their steering skills and practice safe riding, all while having fun operating their bicycle in a skills course designed by the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State. Children of all skill levels are encouraged to participate!
Those who attend are asked to bring both bicycles and helmets. The Wheeling Wheelmen Bicycle Club will be on-site to provide a free bicycle helmet fitting. There will also be an experienced bike technician at this event to inspect bicycles.
Participants will be judged based on their skill level, and awards will be given out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each age group at the end of the rodeo. There will also be give-a-ways, including the grand prize, a new bicycle. Winners are not required to be present.
