Neighborhood website, Niche.com, published the rankings which consider quality of public schools, crime rates, employment opportunities, cost of living and more.
The Village of Buffalo Grove has been ranked as the best place to live in the state of Illinois, and the 7th best place to live in the nation, according to Niche.com.
The neighborhood website publishes yearly rankings in individual states and throughout the country, by assessing a variety of factors including housing trends, quality of schools, crime rates, cost of living, access to amenities, employment statistics, and overall quality of life.
“We are honored to be recognized as the best place to live, work and raise a family,” said Village President Beverly Sussman. “We are proud to uphold very high standards to maintain a safe community and provide an excellent level of services for our residents."
The Niche.com rankings resulted from the assessment of 15,783 communities across the U.S.
Data is collected through a variety of resources, including the U.S. Census, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Centers for Disease Control, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and others. Ratings and reviews from residents are also taken into consideration.
In Illinois, Buffalo Grove was followed by Naperville, which was ranked the second-best place to live, then Clarendon Hills, neighboring Long Grove, and Hinsdale, which was ranked fifth.
