The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) has released new test data showing airbag inflators from certain vehicles have a high risk of rupturing during airbag deployment.
The following 2001-2003 Honda and Acura vehicles have been identified as having up to a 50-percent chance of airbag inflators rupture in a crash. The airbags should be repaired immediately.
NHTSA and Honda also urge drivers of Honda vehicles built between 2008-2011 to visit www.safercar.gov to see if their airbags inflators need to be repaired.
