INCIDENTS AND CRIMES
Civil Matter
Occurred 2pm on 6/14
700 Block of West Lake Cook Road
Complainant stated that she went to the law offices to satisfy a debt. The law firm refused the payment indicating that the debt is double than the amount of the check. Officer advised the complainant to contact her attorney and work through him.

1800 Block of Twin Oaks Boulevard
Resident stated that someone in Texas made seven withdrawals from two of his bank accounts, totaling $24,800.00. The resident has notified the bank and will place a fraud alert with the credit bureaus.

Occurred between 6/10 and 6/11
800 Block of Weidner Road
Resident stated that he received a credit card bill in the mail for $158.86. The resident then called the credit provider to advise them that he does not have an account with them. The credit provider will close the account.
Employer Employee Dispute
Occurred between 7:20am and 3pm on 6/14
201 Hastings Drive – Hyper Microsystems
Complainant reported that he received a phone call from his boss telling the complainant not to return to work. When the complainant went to inquire why he was let go, the boss told him that he was terminating people. Not satisfied with the answer the complainant inquired again which resulted in the boss yelling at the complainant. Officer advised the complainant to contact the company’s HR regarding due wages.
Youth Problem
Occurred 4:20pm on 6/14
600 Block of Golfview Terrace
Officers responded to a report of older juveniles chasing a couple of younger kids. The older youths stated that they chased the younger youths because the younger youths flipped them off. No physical contact was made, and parents of all youths were notified of the police contact.
Unwanted Subject
Occurred between 4/1 and 6/14
300 Hastings Drive – Assembled Products
Company official reported that a discharged employee continues to return to the company grounds and speaks with other employees. The discharged employee has been told not to return but continues to do so. Officers spoke with the discharged employee and advised him that he will be charged with trespassing should he return.

1300 Block of Rose Boulevard
Resident reported that she filed a report of identity theft in 2006 and thought all matters had been cleared up. On 6/7 she received a bill for $500.00 for an unpaid cell phone account which had been opened in 2006. The resident contacted the cell phone provider and they will follow up.
Accidental Damage to Property
Occurred 7pm on 6/14
Prairie Road at Arlyd Road
Driver reported that his vehicle was struck by a golf ball. A sixteen year old youth had been practicing his chipping when one ball departed his back yard and struck the car. The youth and his mother stated that they would reimburse the driver for any damages.
Outside Department Assist
Occurred 7:20pm on 6/14
300 Block of Gardenia Lane
Round Lake Police requested that officers contact a resident to call them. The message was relayed.
Repossession
Occurred 10:25pm on 6/14
200 Block of White Branch Court
Agent for LP Towing Recovery Inc. registered to repossess a 2007 Mercedez-Benz S500. The agent did not call to advise if the repossession was successful.

Dog Bite
Occurred 5:55pm on 6/14
1400 Block of Mill Creek Drive
Resident stated that she was walking her dog on a leash when a neighbor’s dog came running from the garage and attacked the resident’s dog. The resident’s dog sustained injuries that required treatment. Officer learned from another neighbor that the same dog had attacked his dog causing a broken leg. The offending dog’s owner was cited and given the dog bite procedure.
STUFF FROM THE STATION
New Stuff:
The Buffalo Grove Police Department has a new K9 team, Officer Danielle Baron and K9 Chance. Chance and Officer Baron graduated from an eight week training course on Friday, 6/11. The training was conducted by TOPS Kennels in Grayslake, and included patrol techniques, narcotics detection, tracking, locating suspects and endangered or missing persons.
Chance is a two year old male German Shepherd who already weighs ninety pounds. Chance will be officially introduced to the Village at the Village Board meeting on Monday 6/21.

BUFFALO GROVE POLICE DEPARTMENT
Starts the Caught You Riding Safety Good Bike Rider Program
The Buffalo Grove Police Department will be conducting a Summertime Good Bike Rider Program during June, July and August. The Buffalo Grove Police has partnered with the Buffalo Grove Pantry, local 7-11 store and the Buffalo Grove Rotary Club for this annual bicycle safety program. Buffalo Grove police officers who see young people demonstrating safe bicycle riding will stop and present the rider with a coupon good for a FREE fountain drink. If they are wearing a bike helmet their names will be entered into a drawing for a new bicycle which is being donated by the Rotary Club. Participating stores include the 7-11 stores located at 1165 Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove, and the Buffalo Grove Pantry at 223 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove.

Whenever anyone needs to contact a Police Department, the best option is to always dial 911.
There can be a circumstance, where you must contact the Buffalo Grove Police Department on an emergency basis, but you are out of the department's calling area. When dialing 911 you are forwarded to the nearest police department. In such a case our new 10 digit emergency phone number is 847-590-3472.
Remember to lock your car and your house, and don't leave anything inside your car that you don't want to lose. The bad guys look for purses left on the seat or the floor. If you must leave your purse, put it into the locked trunk.
