Milwaukee/Deerfield Intersection

Woodman’s Food Markets and Shorewood Development Group are beginning construction on a 25-acre commercial development at the western corners of Deerfield Parkway and Milwaukee Avenue. The development will be anchored by a 242,000 square foot Woodman’s Food Market located on the northwest corner of the intersection. Woodman’s also plans to develop a fuel center, convenience store, quick lube and carwash on the north side of Deerfield Parkway. Additional commercial and retail developments would occupy the remaining 7- acres at the southwest corner of the intersection, which would be developed by Shorewood Development Group.

Starting the week of 7/31/17 the development work on the northwest corner for the Woodman's building will begin.  First the site will be cleared with soil erosion and sediment control measures installed.  Followed by earth work and underground utility installation.  Lastly the buildings and parking lots will be constructed.  This work will carry into much of 2018.

Intersection and roadway improvements of Milwaukee and Deerfield are planned with the project but are not expected to begin until Spring of 2018 at the earliest.

IDOT will be conducting some signal modernization activities in the intersection during 2017 but they are not in conjunction with the project or facilitated by the Village of Buffalo Grove.

Details are still forthcoming on the development of the parcel at the southwest corner of the intersection.  All parcels east of Milwaukee are in the Village of Riverwoods and therefore the Village of Buffalo Grove does not know about any current or upcoming activity there.
